Dear Yale Medicine Faculty, Staff, and Contingent Workers,

It's that time of year again! Per federal healthcare requirements, all members of the Yale Medicine workforce, (i.e., faculty, staff, and contingent workers) are required to complete the annual Yale Medicine Compliance training. Workday module assignments, based on your role, will be issued on October 27 with a 30-day completion deadline.

Key Updates for This Year

• Continued Medical Education (CME)-eligible clinicians can now earn CME credits by completing Yale Medicine Compliance online modules or attending live training sessions. Look for CME flyers at the end of the training to claim your credits.
• We are introducing a streamlined, tailored approach for our annual compliance training for Yale Medicine Workforce.
  • Federal clinical compliance topics, including fraud, waste, and abuse, clinical conflict of interest, and Section 1557, are now covered in one annual module.
    • Yale Medicine billing clinicians will also receive specialty-specific billing and coding training within their module.
  • Yale Medicine Compliance is transitioning to a set training window for annual training requirements, planned for fall of each year. This replaces the historic rolling annual training approach.
    • This year, training launches on October 27 with a 30-day completion deadline. This approach allows us to partner with leadership to ensure training completion during the targeted timeframe.
• You can now share your insights on our educational materials. After each module or live training session, complete the four-question Yale Medicine Compliance satisfaction survey. Your feedback can help us create an exceptional learning experience for future years!

As a partner in the Compliance Program at Yale Medicine, it is your responsibility to complete your annual compliance training and seek to understand the relevant rules and regulations applicable to your position. Per Yale University Policy 1010, failure to comply may lead to restrictions on activities, corrective actions, and/or disciplinary consequences.

How to meet your 2025 Annual Yale Medicine Compliance Requirement

Yale Medicine Credentialed Faculty, Advance Practice Providers and Other Practitioners

• You will be assigned an Annual Compliance Workday training module based on your clinical department and role on October 27, with a November 26 due date. You will receive an e-mail notification once the assignment is made and you can access the training in your My Learning tab of Workday.
  • However, if your department facilitates a live one-hour training with Yale Medicine Compliance before the end of December, you may choose to attend this session instead of completing the online training module. In Workday, your online module will be replaced with your live attendance verification.
  • Department leadership can request live training sessions by submitting a request through the Compliance Education Request Form. Up to two sessions per clinical department will be available and offer specialty-specific or core billing and coding content.
• If your department is hosting a live session with Yale Medicine Compliance, your leadership will inform you to help you plan your attendance.
• Visit the Physician Training Requirements web page to learn more about the content available to your Clinical Department in 2025.

All other Yale Medicine Faculty, Staff, and Contingent Workers

• You will be assigned the Annual Yale Medicine Compliance module in Workday on October 27, with a November 26 due date.
• You will receive an e-mail notification once the assignment is made and you can access the training in your My Learning tab of Workday.
